This week the president directed the U.S. Treasury to modernize payment systems to utilize the Federal Reserve’s FedNow instant payment rail and sunset written checks sent from the U.S. Treasury. This effort has been years in the making and is a significant step forward to reduce fraud and more quickly place funds into the hands of the intended person.
Iowa State Bank & Trust is pleased to announce that we’ve already positioned ourselves as a leader in modern payment rails, particularly as a receiving financial institution for the FedNow instant settlement service.
FedNow: Transforming Real-Time Payments
The Federal Reserve’s FedNow service was conceived over a decade ago and is today a groundbreaking initiative designed to facilitate instant, 24/7/365 payments across the banking ecosystem.
